Bridging Academic Knowledge with Social Innovation: A Masterclass in Modern Leadership

We were deeply honored to welcome back George Stathis—Greek Sign Language interpreter, founder of HandsUp: Sign Language Interpreting Agency, and member of the Association of Greek Sign Language Interpreters—for another inspiring guest lecture at Panteion University.


George joined us for Professor Theodosios Palaskas’ course, “Special Topics in Applied Business and Organizational Management,” which is part of the Master's program in the Department of Economic and Regional Development.


Through a highly engaging and fruitful dialogue with our students, his lecture explored:

  • Social Entrepreneurship & Innovation: A modern approach to building impactful, forward-thinking businesses.

  • Humane Leadership: The critical role of emotional intelligence and psychomanagement in shaping effective, empathetic organizational models.

  • Strategic Management in Practice: Utilizing the growth of HandsUp as a real-world case study to analyze team management and strategy within a dynamic environment.

  • Cultural Identity: A sensitive and clear introduction to the world of sign language, encouraging us to view deafness not as a disability, but as an equal linguistic and cultural identity.
